Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the highest level of understanding regarding Magna practices including World Class Manufacturing (WCM), Magna Factory Concept (MAFACT), Magna Cost Reduction Process (MCRP), Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Kaizen Events, and Standardized Work.
  • Ensure Lessons Learned (LL) are read across and ensure standard processes (design, equipment, tooling, quoting, etc.) are updated as needed to support Continuous Improvement.
  • Train, mentor, and drive a culture of WCM, and MCRP within the division.
  • Develop standardized tools for departments to facilitate a repeatable workflow environment.
  • Analyze key business metrics to identify areas of opportunity that will have the largest impact on financial performance.
  • Perform business case analysis on potential improvement plans to confirm payback is present to obtain Executive Management agreement on implementation.
  • Develop fully comprehensible implementation plans with team input to facilitate effective execution, including timing, funding, payback, risk analysis, and required resource allocations.
  • Monitor and execute through effective tracking and reporting ensuring on budget and on time delivery to established key process indicators (KPI's).
  • Monthly project status reports presented to Senior Management of key dates, customer deliverables, open issues, and financial status.
Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Diploma preferred in manufacturing, engineering, or finance with a bachelor's degree an asset, or proven work related experience
  • A minimum of 3 years in automotive lighting commodity, with 5 years minimum in automotive manufacturing
  • Red X or Six Sigma training preferred
  • Microsoft software with expert skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Execution experience as it relates to Continuous Improvement related tools and topics required:
  • Experience in management of both direct reports and peers an asset.
