Are you a skilled Project Engineer looking for a new opportunity? We are collaborating with a prominent organization to find a talented individual to manage FAA Parts Manufacturing Approval projects.

Location: Florida (Relocation assistance is available for this role.)

Role Overview: The Project Engineer will manage efforts to obtain FAA Parts Manufacturing Approval for airworthy flight hardware. This role involves designing and developing manufacturing processes, coordinating inspections, and supporting vendor qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop designs and substantiation packages for FAA Parts Manufacturer Approval applications.
  • Assist in creating manufacturing processes for airworthy flight components.
  • Coordinate first article or conformity inspection activities with Quality Assurance, ODA, Technical Services, and management.
  • Establish vendor substantiation requirements and support new vendor qualifications.
  • Address QA and vendor inquiries related to drawing interpretation, manufacturing, and inspection methods.
  • Participate in the disposition of non-conforming materials, analyzing fit, function, safety, and reliability.
  • Complete Engineering Changes with necessary substantiation.
  • Provide support to customers and operators regarding products.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.

Experience:

  • 3-6 years of aerospace or mechanical design experience preferred.
  • Experience with 3D CAD software (e.g., Pro-Engineer, Solidworks).
  • Proficiency in mechanical drafting, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of aircraft components, controls, and interiors is a plus.
  • Familiarity with structural, thermal, and modal analysis of mechanical components.
  • Understanding of aerospace materials and conventional manufacturing methods.

Skills:

  • High attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Specialized Knowledge:

  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and 3D CAD software.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts, including probability, statistics, and geometry.
  • Reasoning Abilities: Strong problem-solving skills and ability to interpret technical instructions.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based with some exposure to a manufacturing floor and occasional travel to industrial locations, including aircraft hangars.
