Position Overview

The Project Engineer utilizes a comprehensive and varied understanding of engineering principles and practices across a wide range of assignments and related sectors in the overall oversight of designated projects. This role employs advanced methodologies to fulfill tasks and will be involved in a significant project or multiple projects of moderate complexity. The Project Engineer engages in quality assurance and quality control processes. This position operates autonomously to execute technical tasks in alignment with project plans while adhering to budgetary constraints and regularly updates Project Managers on project progress.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical Duties

  • Oversee the efforts of team members on a project-specific basis.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and colleagues to enhance profitability while ensuring high-quality standards.
  • Conduct analysis and design of systems.
  • Generate comprehensive project documentation, including studies, reports, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Draft clear and accurate written communications.
  • Provide technical assistance on construction initiatives, including reviewing construction submissions and conducting site inspections.
  • Work independently or collaboratively to execute technical activities in accordance with project plans and budgetary limits.
  • Monitor progress on project tasks in relation to scope, deliverables, timelines, and financial plans.
  • Meet project deadlines or assist others in achieving them.
  • Deliver consultative insights to clients.
Quality Assurance Responsibilities
  • Conduct Quality Control Reviews of project outputs to ensure compliance with company, industry, and client standards as per the Jones Edmunds Quality Program.
  • Accountable for the quality of submitted work. Review designs and documents prior to advancing them to the next review stage.
  • Adhere to project timelines and keep the Project Manager informed of any challenges encountered.
  • Complete peer reviews of work thoroughly and promptly to guarantee the quality and service expected by our clients.
  • Evaluate the work of Engineers and Engineer Interns under your supervision.
  • Perform peer reviews in accordance with the quality program.
  • Submit work for quality control review punctually and in a comprehensive format.
Management Duties
  • May serve as Task Manager.
Marketing Duties
  • Contribute to the development of technical papers and presentations.
  • Assist in crafting client proposals for projects to ensure a comprehensive scope that aligns with company, industry, and client standards.
  • Engage directly with clients on technical matters.
  • Project a professional and positive image of Jones Edmunds.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Registration: Florida Registered Professional Engineer.
  • Certification: None required.
  • Experience: At least 8 years of progressive consulting or related experience.
  • A Master’s degree in Engineering may substitute for 1 year of experience.
  • A PhD in Engineering may substitute for 2 years of experience.
  • Other: Publication/presentation record is desirable.
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
