POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Engineer (PE) plays a pivotal role in overseeing all technical and engineering facets of assigned projects. The ideal candidate will lead a diverse engineering team and collaborate closely with Program Managers, functional groups, and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery while adhering to customer specifications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Foster a high-performance team environment focused on defined engineering practices with clear objectives.
  2. Contribute technical expertise to business development efforts, including proposal creation and cost estimation.
  3. Coordinate engineering activities for training device programs within a complex organizational structure.
  4. Review and approve technical specifications, designs, and test plans.
  5. Ensure project milestones are met on schedule and in compliance with established requirements.
  6. Participate in technical and program reviews as a presenter or reviewer.
  7. Oversee program technical design and integration processes.
  8. Identify and resolve technical issues, recommending resource reallocations or adjustments to specifications as needed.
  9. Communicate any scheduling conflicts or resource limitations to the project team and stakeholders.
  10. Implement solutions for hardware/software integration challenges.
  11. Provide engineering support during the manufacturing phase to ensure timely project completion.
  12. Ensure that final products meet contractual obligations and technical compliance.
  13. Act as the primary technical representative during customer acceptance processes, which may require travel.
  14. Offer guidance and mentorship to team members involved in assigned projects.
  15. Attend relevant stakeholder meetings and events as necessary.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ASI's policies and applicable laws.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  1. Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience, including at least 5 years in developing complex hardware/software systems.
  2. Preferred experience of 3 years as a Project Engineer in the flight simulation sector.
  3. Proven track record in leading and managing engineering teams.
  4. Experience in collaborating with customers to translate needs into technical requirements.
  5. Preferred background in software development and simulator design.

  2. Strong interpersonal skills to maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
  3. Adaptability in communication style for various audiences.
  4. Proficient in managing multiple projects and priorities effectively.

  6. Proficiency in business software applications.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

  1. Must be a United States Citizen due to contractual obligations.
  2. Ability to pass a background check and obtain a Department of Defense security clearance.
  3. Willingness to travel for on-site integration and testing as required.
  4. Compliance with ASI's Drug-Free Workplace policy.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is primarily office-based, featuring a collaborative atmosphere with moderate noise levels. The role requires teamwork and cooperation with colleagues and external clients.
