The Opportunity

Settlements Manager at a growth-oriented energy company Reporting to the Vice President of Mid Office, this position will be responsible for leading the team accountable for the settlement of physical commodity transactions. You will work closely with the Vice President of Mid Office to build out a strong Settlements function. You will play a key role in the purchase of crude and products giving you exposure to several different regions and their associated products and processes. Gain exposure to the commercial team, but also work closely Contracts, Treasury, Tax and Finance. Enjoy exposure to our multi-state operations that stretch from Texas to Wyoming and Montana, and from Washington to Hawaii.

Key activities include:

Help build and lead a highly motivated team that is responsible for validating physical commodity and secondary cost invoices against system accruals. Collaborate with Logistics, Contracts, Accounts Payable and Treasury on timely settlement of third-party invoices. Troubleshoot pricing discrepancies through system analysis and coordination with Logistics and Commercial. Coordinate with accounting on month-end accruals for unpaid items. Ensure that third-party invoices received are processed and paid timely. Communicate with counterparties to resolve invoice discrepancies. Coordinate with Contracts & Master Data groups to ensure Allegro master data is maintained effectively to facilitate interfaces to SAP. Ensure proper documentation and be the single point of accountability for quarter and year-end audit requests. Ensure consistent adherence to the company's policy and procedures. Work closely with the Par Commercial team to understand the transactions and apply best practices in settlements. Develop and implement proper processes and controls as required. Ensure compliance with the established SOX guidelines and procedures. Recommend and implement continuous improvement procedures to optimize the settlement process.

Qualifications

To meet the basic qualifications for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.

Additional qualifications include:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year institution in Accounting, Finance or Business. Advanced degree a plus. 8+ years of relevant business experience required. Previous management experience required. Knowledge of industry terminology; understanding of industry contract language required. Advances analytical, organization, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word, including complex/compound spreadsheets. SAP experience required. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Fluent in English, both oral and written required.

Our Refineries and Logistics Operations
