SUMMARY:
The Senior Settlements Analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring that all operations within the Back-Office Department are executed promptly and effectively.

This position acts as the final review before the completion of invoices, reconciliations, and forecasting during daily operations.

The analyst will collaborate with Accounting, Risk, and Front Office teams, working as part of a cohesive unit to guarantee that essential Settlement functions are fulfilled.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Settlements Lead, Supervisor, and/or Manager by consistently communicating progress on various issues.

Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly settlements of physical and financial trading activities across Gas, Power, ISOs, Crude, and New Energy sectors.

Support the recording and monitoring of all energy charges and fees with ISOs in a timely and scalable manner.
Coordinate with counterparties, scheduling, and trading teams to promptly resolve invoice discrepancies through contract reviews and volume actualization support.
Reconcile commodity activities with the Horizon system to ensure data integrity and accuracy, communicating any impacts to commercial and accounting teams.
Prepare high-level Prepayment, Intercompany, and other manual invoices accurately and on time.
Ensure daily cash forecasting is accurate, efficient, and timely, including forecasting all external AP/AR and intercompany AP/AR.
Generate and analyze the daily Cashflow worksheet, showcasing forecasted balances across all accounts.
Prepare a daily Margin calculation worksheet based on financial trades.
Maintain and foster ongoing relationships with external counterparties, Accounting, IT, Trading, Marketing, Operations, Risk, and other affiliated companies.

Responsible for training and mentoring new employees and junior staff members to enhance their understanding and execution of routine job functions.

Monitor updates to Process Documentation.
Provide assistance to Front Office, Middle Office, and Back Office Accounting as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:


The ideal candidate must be a highly motivated and self-driven Analyst capable of performing in a high-level position, demonstrating consistency, attention to detail, and effective task prioritization.

Exhibit confidence in building relationships and interacting with external counterparties, Accounting, IT, Trading, Marketing, Operations, Risk, and other affiliated companies.
Show proficiency in utilizing ETRM or comparable Trading systems.
Possess working knowledge of Excel, including data mining and manipulation.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field is preferred, or equivalent relevant work experience.
Experience within the Energy sector is required.
A minimum of four years in a trading or related environment is necessary.
Experience with Allegro and its respective power add-in is advantageous.
A background in Accounting or Finance is a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English are required.
