Position Overview

As an Energy Settlements Specialist within the Commercial Operations division at ENGIE Energy Marketing North America, you will play a crucial role in managing settlements with Independent System Operators (ISOs) and complex agreements with bilateral partners.
  • Reconcile discrepancies between anticipated and actual settlement figures.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of settlement data, providing valuable insights to Asset Managers.
  • Verify power generation and transaction information using both internal and external data sources.
  • Generate tailored reports to meet counterparty requirements and ensure timely distribution and updates.
  • Oversee calculation templates for Power Purchase Agreements for energy clients.
  • Ensure timely validation and internal distribution of invoices to meet deadlines.
  • Utilize ISO websites to access settlement files and pricing information, aiding in invoice reconciliation.
  • Perform analytical investigations to identify the root causes of settlement inconsistencies.
  • Ensure accurate capture of ISO/counterparty settlements in the transaction management system.
  • Support other departments with financial and market analysis for various initiatives as needed.
  • Assist in the onboarding process for new projects.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and automation in routine tasks.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for settlement processes.
  • Collaborate with IT to improve and test settlement systems and procedures.
  • Execute additional duties and analyses as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in an analytical field such as economics, finance, accounting, renewable energy, sustainability, or a related area.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Extensive knowledge of energy markets and familiarity with various ISOs.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using systems such as Aligne, PowerOptix, PI, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including a solid understanding of formulas and pivot tables.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills to meet internal and external deadlines.
  • Experience in interpreting Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) contracts.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong analytical thinking and professional presentation skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated team player with the ability to adapt quickly to new systems and manage time-sensitive tasks.
Additional Information
  • This position follows a hybrid work policy; candidates must be available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week at ENGIE's offices. Some remote work may be permitted at the discretion of management.
  • Compliance with ENGIE's COVID vaccination and testing policy is required.

Compensation

Salary Range: $96,100 - $147,660 USD annually.

This range represents the average expected pay for a qualified candidate. Actual salary may vary based on factors such as geography, experience, and education.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus/incentive plan.
