We are seeking a temporary, full-time Accounts Payable Specialist. Time frame is approximately 12 weeks. Position is responsible for timely and accurate completion of accounts payable related responsibilities including expense reimbursements and trade payables, as well as compliance reporting such as 1099s. Work is performed according to detailed and complex policies, regulations and/or accounting principles.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8a-4:30p CT. Potential for fully remote work but if located in Duluth, MN or Tampa, FL, will work hybrid schedule with Wednesday being in office

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process payables transactions including all types of expenses, trade accounts payable, and contract payments in accordance with the documented approval policies.
  • Process and complete weekly ACH and check payments, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
  • Audit submitted expense reports to ensure adherence to the Travel & Expense Policy
  • Responsible for the professional management and completion of all assigned accounting functions and projects.
  • Participate in quarterly 1099 report reviews and assist in yearly processing of 1099s
  • Prepare documentation for external auditors as requested.
  • Responsible for the Accounts Payable email box
  • Assist Senior Manager Accounting with ad-hoc requests as needed.
  • Provide timely and accurate customer service to internal and external customers with questions and/or requests including employee inquiries, auditors, and others as applicable.
  • Work effectively both individually and as part of a team with excellent organizational, communication, problem solving, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and transform to meet deadlines and excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform additional duties as identified and directed by management.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Accounting, or any equivalent combination of education and experience determined to be acceptable.
  • Minimum two years of accounting experience.
  • Attention to detail is required
  • Advanced computer skills, including knowledge of software packages and accounting systems. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Ability to read, comprehend and author instructions, correspondence, memos, and other documentation.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close is a plus.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP is a plus.
