Job Overview

The Cash Management and Vault Operations Specialist is essential in maintaining the secure and efficient functioning of the cash vault while overseeing incoming cash accounts. This role is situated within the finance department, working closely with accounts payable, and reports directly to the Finance Director.

Key Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Supervise daily cash vault operations across multiple locations, including preparing cash banks, reconciling transactions, verifying card payments, and organizing deposits.
  • Manage accounts receivable activities such as daily ledger reconciliation, processing payments, and addressing any discrepancies.
  • Provide training to staff involved in cash handling to ensure compliance with procedures for bank reconciliations.
  • Accurately reconcile all cash banks to avoid discrepancies, addressing any errors with diligence and implementing corrective actions.
  • Utilize critical thinking to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly.
  • Promote a customer-friendly atmosphere in all interactions.
  • Adhere strictly to vault security protocols and maintain precise records.
  • Conduct weekly vault audits and resolve any inconsistencies in daily transactions.
  • Adjust work hours to accommodate significant cash handling events, ensuring availability during peak times and offering flexible communication methods for support.
Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma with 1-3 years of experience in cash register reconciliation, cash management, and vault security.
  • Ability to make independent decisions based on established policies and demonstrate sound judgment.
  • Dependability and flexibility, with the capacity to work weekends and adjust schedules as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-4 year post-secondary degree.
  • Familiarity with In Touch systems.
  • Experience with accounting software such as Great Plains.
  • Proficiency in creating and managing spreadsheets, particularly in Excel.
Physical Requirements

The position is primarily sedentary but requires the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting files, opening filing cabinets, and occasionally bending or standing as necessary.
