The primary purpose of this position is to exercise both oversight and technical authority over critical initial network operation services that require the incumbent to strategize, implement, and maintain program initiatives that provide secure, redundant, and stable network operation services in support of IT operations to enhance the capabilities of NSD in performing the mission.

An IT Program Manager will perform duties such as but not limited to:
  • Overseeing network operation services
  • Coordinating, communicating, and integrating IT projects and program activities
  • Making decisions and negotiating responsibilities involved in executing program efforts

      Qualifications

      To qualify for the position of IT Program Manager at (GS , you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade you're applying to.

      If you are a current or former government employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade. Additionally, please ensure to submit an applicable SF50 (please refer to the "required documents" section for additional information).

      Basic Requirements per OPM
      Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the competencies below:
    • Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
    • Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
    • Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
    • Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Minimum Qualification: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector overseeing and working multiple IT projects that encompass both physical hardware and network connections.
