To execute this transformation, we need people who take the lead in defining standards and guardrails of working and developing expertise within the chapter. Chapter Leads will optimize the deployment of Chapter members across Squads and line-manage Chapter members to develop their skills and expertise.

This chapter lead role leads all aspects of building scalable, secure, cutting edge custom GenAI software products in the Knowledge Portfolio. It includes significant GenAI Solution Architecture responsibilities and talent development - all with the ultimate goal of delivering impactful, game-changing GenAI products.

As a Chapter Lead, you will blend deep domain expertise with a passion for coaching and developing people. You will lead a team of software engineers, who will be embedded across Squads in the Portfolio, but report to you as their line manager. You will help ensure alignment on the "how" of the work they perform in Squads. You will often lead as a "player-coach," spending part of your time embedded in a Squad yourself.

Among your responsibilities, you will:

  • Continuously develop Chapter expertise
  • Maintaining best-in-class Chapter expertise and resources in order to deliver the right knowledge and skills to Squads.
  • Staying abreast of relevant developments and innovations in domain area, both internally and externally.
  • Line management of Chapter members to help improve domain knowledge and better serve the Squads in which they work.
  • Aligining Chapter development goals, progress and opportunities with your Tech Area Lead.
  • Share knowledge and expertise within and outside of the Chapter
  • Ensuring the "how" of the work performed by Chapter members is aligned with established technical roadmaps and guardrails to drive strategy.
  • Actively sharing knowledge and expertise across the IT organization, with other Chapters and other Portfolios
  • Identify resource needs throughout the organization
  • Engaging Product Owners, Portfolio Leads, and Tech Area Leads to allocate Chapter members and ensure Squads have proper technical resourcing and functional expertise.
  • Identifying expertise and resource gaps and training or hiring the talent needed to
    address them.
  • Enable the organization's new way of working
  • Modelling behaviors to support the organization's transformation to a new way of working.
  • As a technical thought partner to multiple Product Owners you will continuously Identifying and championing the prioritization of technical & architectural debt
  • Actively creating and maintaining a positive culture within the Chapter based on Agile leadership behaviors.

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
  • Total 15+ years' relevant software development experience, including experience leading custom development teams and solving complex problems for business functions.
  • Expert level skills in product software development, with a desire to remain 'hands on'; Full-stack coding experience Backend/API (J2EE, Python or similar), Front end/UI (React or similar).
  • Real world experience leading development of production deployed GenAI custom applications integrated with OpenAI API (or similar)
  • Ability and passion to learn new technologies
  • Excellent software design & development principles, with a focus on system stability, reusability and performance optimized for a global audience.
  • Experience leveraging DevOps tools and principles.
  • Strong understanding of Cloud offerings (AWS, Azure) and capabilities.
  • Experience in Agile Methodologies, establishing a culture of continuous improvement, understanding, and applying a "servant leader" mindset.
  • Excellent communications, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
YOU'LL WORK WITH
  • Your software engineering chapter, by setting their direction, establishing objectives and key results, working on the staffing and development of your chapter, and ensuring that you maximize outputs and working products.
  • Portfolio Leadership, Product Owners and other Portfolio Chapter Leads with whom you shall work to manager chapter resources and ensure a positive collaboration.
  • Agile Coaches and Scrum Masters, that will ensure that you adopt agile principles, mindset and ways of working into your daily routine and who will coach you during the transformation.
  • Squad members of a specific squad, led by a Product Owner.
