Boston, Massachusetts, United States Wellington Management Full time
About Us
Wellington Management provides extensive investment management services that encompass nearly all areas of the global capital markets.

Our tailored investment solutions cater to the distinct return and risk objectives of institutional clients across more than 60 countries, leveraging a robust foundation of proprietary research and a collaborative culture that promotes independent thought and constructive debate.

As a private partnership, we believe our ownership structure encourages a long-term perspective that aligns our viewpoints with those of our clients.

About the Role
We are in search of a seasoned equity investor to play a pivotal role within our Technology team in Global Industry Research (GIR), focusing on conducting research and formulating investment recommendations within the global software sector, which includes both front and back office applications, as well as analytics.

With over $147 billion allocated to technology across more than 50 Portfolio Managers, this represents a flagship franchise for Wellington. The software sector constitutes a significant portion of our coverage universe, accounting for 28% of our total technology assets. Our broad technology team comprises over 20 colleagues engaged in both public and private markets. Our Global Industry Analysts (GIAs) serve as the firm's subject matter experts in their respective sectors, tasked with generating superior investment returns through comprehensive company, sector, and industry research and analysis.

GIAs establish their own research agendas, which are central to their individual philosophies and processes. They are expected to be thought leaders within their sectors.

Our most successful GIAs consistently demonstrate the ability to generate unique investment insights and effectively guide a diverse range of Portfolio Managers towards what they perceive as the most compelling and differentiated investment opportunities.

In addition to their research responsibilities, our GIAs also serve as Portfolio Managers, managing significant client assets across multiple concentrated alpha sleeves as part of our extensive research portfolio suite of products.

The impact of our GIAs extends well beyond their research and asset management roles. As subject matter experts, they possess the ability to influence a broader spectrum of portfolio managers who manage across various investment styles, regions, and time horizons, including benchmark-relative, total return, and long/short strategies.

Our investment culture thrives on rich, rigorous, and respectful debate regarding insights, assumptions, and theses across multiple independent perspectives, often aligned with unique client objectives and individual portfolio team processes.

Our GIAs are at the heart of this discourse, igniting and contributing to discussions with the common goal of generating superior investment returns for our clients.
