POSITION DUTIES

​​How would you like to work in the downtown Annapolis, surrounded by the charmed of this historic city and the Chesapeake Bay? We are seeking a motivated individual to assist Branch Operations professional staff of the Taxpayer Services Division. The main purpose of this job is to provide administrative support to the Branch Operations professional staff in their mission by processing incoming and outgoing mail, complete daily operational reports, collect, sort and record return checks issued by the State of Maryland from the US Postal Service. This position will submit supply orders for Branch Operations according to individual branch office needs and notify the regional managers when ready for distribution.​\r

Please note: Employee must be able to work in a full-time capacity: Monday through Friday from 8:00 a. m. - 5:00 PM. Employee assigned such duties will be required to possess driver's license valid in the State of Maryland. Candidates may be responsible for providing their own transportation as needed to access meetings, remote locations, and job destinations as assigned. Employee must be able to tolerate an occasional uncomfortable or unpleasant experiences presented by upset or irate taxpayers. Work may involve special physical demands such as lifting 25 to 35 pounds, climbing ladders, delivering supplies, etc. Employees are unable to prepare tax returns outside of the requirements of the job or work for private accounting companies. Evening, and weekend work may be required during peak times of the year. Leave may be limited during certain times of the year due to high volume events, projects or special assignments.​\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.\r
Experience: One year of experience performing administrative staff, clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work.\r

Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\r
