Job Description
BAE is searching for an experienced User Experience Technical Manager to join our team supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) High Performance Computing Modernization Program (DoD HPCMP). This is a virtual position that can be accomplished from anywhere in the continental US.
The successful candidate will manage small geographically distributed teams supporting the user experience through HPC scientific software management, advanced user support activities, online documentation and training products, and more. The successful candidate will also be an active participant in various program level communities supporting the user experience, including Baseline Configuration and User Advocacy. Responsibilities include:

  • Application management oversight (manage installs/updates of HPC software)
  • Evaluate and enhance advanced customer support engagements
  • HPC COTS software portfolio management
  • Coordination of personnel and projects that impact the User Experience
  • Advocate and pursue positive enhancements/engagements on behalf of the users
  • Interact with users through projects, tickets, informal discussion and face-to-face workshops

Management of team members for BAE Systems, includes activities such as review and approval of timesheets, annual training, and performance reviews.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Experience in a user facing leadership or support role
  • Ability to properly assess and triage tickets/requests for escalation to advanced support teams
  • Experience managing/leading cross-functional, remote teams working to support multiple data centers and a geographically disparate user base
  • Experience managing project activities including schedule, cost, and labor factors
  • A track record of championing user experience enhancements
  • Prior experience in a High Performance Computing (HPC) environment
  • Familiarity of Linux operating systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Experience deploying and managing COTS Modeling and Simulation software and Open Source modeling and development tools
  • Experience working with users to resolve issues using and configuring advanced Modeling and Simulation Software
  • Experience working with vendors to procure software and to diagnose user reported issues and problems
  • Prior experience supporting DoD programs
  • HPC subject matter expertise

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $ $191070
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
