TikTok Shop—Electronics, Office, and Books—is looking for a retail champion to help us build our business and drive the growth of our category. This role sits in our larger Category Operations team, which supports key and enterprise accounts, social sellers, and emerging brands. About the Role: The Business Development Lead is responsible for leading a team of Business Development talents to craft a highly productive pipeline, managing outreach volume & yield, onboarding high-potential brands & sellers, to help us build a credible, differentiated, and trend-driven ecommerce business.

You will work closely with a team of category managers, creator specialists, technical and non-technical cross-functional partners to pitch, educate, and onboard new merchants onto TikTok Shop. Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Category leadership to identify and prioritize the highest-potential merchants to join TikTok Shop, and lead the business development process end to end
  • Build a business development engine, process, measurement, and best practices to deliver high volume seller acquisition for the business
  • Generate, curate, and continually advance a pipeline of qualified prospects based on opportunity size, fit for platform, creators, and customers, and ability to execute content commerce, and deliver on BD goals to grow the category
  • Deeply understand the TikTok category space and target brands, and conceptualize effective pitch materials and processes to deliver the right outcomes with brands
  • Partner with internal cross-functional teams to help brands navigate onboarding & integration, and optimize the process so that your BD pipeline progresses at speed, and delivers growth for the sellers
  • Develop reporting, analysis, and measurement that monitors and optimizes seller onboarding.
  • Collaborate and partner with internal cross-functional teams to coordinate resources and drive seller acquisition results

Qualifications



Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in business development, vendor acquisition, or sales for retailer, marketplace, or ecommerce platform
  • 5+ years experience working with electronics, office, books, or CPG brands
  • platform, marketplace, and/or brand-side
  • 3+ years experience leading teams
  • Experience engaging with and influencing executive leadership in B2B settings and negotiating the right BD outcomes
  • Develop reporting, analysis, and measurement that monitors and optimizes seller onboarding.
  • Experience managing a scalable process to meet monthly and quarterly OKR, and the analytical and problem-solving ability to improve the process to support business growth

Job Information



The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $ $273600 annually.​

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​
