Responsibilities:

Position Summary:

The Unit Service Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and performing a broad range of clerical support functions in the nursing unit. Specific duties include performing reception functions. collecting and compiling patient data. assembling medical records. and assisting with patient admission/discharge. Performs routine patient care functions as needed and will perform other related duties as required.

Essential Job Functions:

  • PNT_CARE Engages in caring behaviors while effectively assisting with patient care activities as directed by the RN, including assisting with patient transportation, hygiene, elimination, and routine comfort measures. Appropriately assists with specimen collection following infection control procedures and delivers medication as appropriate, in a timely manner 20%
  • ADM_Effectively uses all applicable computer and office systems/procedures to coordinate documentation, data, and information for the shift to ensure timely communication and smooth operations. Ensures appropriate inventory of supplies and proper functioning of equipment 40%
  • ADM_Accurately prepares correspondence, documents, forms and reports. Establishes and maintains effective filing systems, and provides excellent departmental telephone and reception coverage 40%

Required Qualifications:

  • Prior work administrative/clerical experience, preferably in a medical setting
  • Must be able to work variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of medical terminology and Universal Precautions
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese


Licenses and Certifications:

  • BLS (Required)
