We are enhancing our services and seeking skilled oncology nurses to contribute to our ambulatory clinic, ensuring the highest quality of patient care. In this role, you will collaborate with multiple providers in care coordination, patient education, triaging, order follow-ups, and supporting advanced practice providers.

Exhibit a thorough understanding of the care plan and coordinate nursing interventions:

  • Consult and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to adjust care plans as needed to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Assist healthcare team members with examinations, procedures, and other direct patient care activities.
  • Administer and manage medications and infusions, including narcotics, chemotherapy, biologic therapies, and blood transfusions.
  • Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and their families.

Education and Community Engagement:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients and families, including healthcare literacy, to identify factors that may affect the patient's understanding of education. Intervene to facilitate comprehension, address barriers, and provide patient-centered education that is accessible and meaningful.

The professional registered nurse:

  • Utilizes the teach-back method to confirm patient understanding of educational content.
  • Involves designated caregivers in patient and family education.
  • Recognizes the importance of community involvement and participates in educating communities about health, wellness, prevention, and care continuity.
  • Applies evidence-based practices and the best available research to inform nursing practice.
  • Engages in professional development and growth.
  • Participates in unit-based projects, staff meetings, councils, and work teams.
  • Stays current with literature, attends educational programs, workshops, and in-services.
