The Lead IT Service Management Specialist is Technical Writer with a specialized focus on enhancing data center documentation. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of layer 1 infrastructure, coupled with expertise in mechanical and electrical systems within data center environments. This role involves creating clear, accurate, and accessible documentation to support the optimization and maintenance of our data center facilities.
Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and improve existing data center documentation.
  • Create, update, and maintain comprehensive documentation for system (IoT) configuration, system integrations and alerting.
  • Create, update, and maintain comprehensive documentation for layer 1 infrastructure, including cabling, connectivity, and physical layout.
  • Develop detailed documentation for mechanical and electrical systems within data centers, ensuring accuracy and clarity. This will include possible failure scenarios, impacts of failures, and actions taken to resolve.
  • Work closely with engineering and operations teams to gather information and translate technical details into user-friendly documentation.
  • Establish and promote documentation standards, ensuring consistency and adherence to best practices.
  • Streamline processes related to documentation creation, review, and updates for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with data center teams to understand emerging technologies and infrastructure changes, incorporating them into documentation as needed.
  • Act as a liaison between technical experts and end-users to bridge communication gaps and improve documentation usability.
  • Works in partnership with all Business Technology teams to support high system availability through the change management process. Ability to think like the consumers of the service and to negotiate terms of service.
  • Provides technical leadership to peers and consumers. Responsible for using principles to understand customer situations and create solutions. Identifies and participates in service improvement initiatives
  • Drafts and publishes knowledge articles about and relating IT Service Management.
  • Manages or operates in their defined service.
  • Responsible for reporting on the established KRI/KPI for the service.

Minimum Qualifications
At a minimum, here's what we need from you:

  • Associate degree in Computer Science or related
  • 4+ Years' Experience IT Services or related
  • In lieu of a degree, 6+ relative IT Services or related experience

Preferred Qualifications
Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer with a focus on data center or infrastructure documentation improvement.
  • Knowledge of IoT, system integration/configuration, layer 1 infrastructure, including cabling, networking, and physical components.
  • Familiarity with mechanical and electrical systems within data center environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise documentation.
  • Experience with documentation tools and version control systems.

Compensation:
The base pay for this position generally ranges between $75,500.00 to $127, Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
