SUMMARY/PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE OF POSITION


We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Associate to join our growing sales team to drive new customer acquisition within the foodservice channel. The primary focus of this role will be to identify and pursue opportunities to expand our client base, strengthen relationships with potential customers, and drive revenue growth. Another function of this role will be to expand our distribution network by onboarding and developing distributor partners. This role will work collaboratively with the Director of Foodservice Sales. This position will report to the Director of Foodservice Sales.

We are looking for an individual who wants to make a big impact within a growing sales organization and seek someone who is passionate about food, sustainability, and organic farming.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively find, qualify, and close new business within foodservice channel (restaurants, distributors, manufacturing, prepared meals, etc)
  • Drive distribution network growth (present in sales meetings, work with reps, and grow business in targeted geography)
  • Foster authentic relationships and build strong communication with customers (HQ visits, calls and networking)
  • Attend industry trade shows (foodservice, retail, marketing, other)
  • Support ideation of thoughtful brand partnerships with the SIMPLi team and present to customers
  • Support development of R&D funnel with account stakeholders and SIMPLi team
  • Support SIMPLi sales team in the execution of customer paperwork (onboarding, item setup, etc)
  • Support SIMPLi sales team with distributor management (items setup, billbacks, reporting)
  • Create and analyze sales reports, present weekly team updates, produce progress reports, as well as other ad-hoc reports when asked.
  • CRM management – leads, deals, contact, and account creation and upkeep
  • Support sales director and leadership as needed


QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • 3+ years of relevant sales experience within foodservice or food/beverage sales
  • Ability to travel (ground/air) on a regular basis (up to 50% of the time)
  • Proven record of success
  • Great networking, analytical and project management skills
  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge or fluency with CRMs
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PPT, etc)
  • Fluent in Spanish is a plus
