The Role


Location: Camp Hill, PA (hybrid)


Reports to: PTSF Board of Directors


Position Summary:


This is a uniqueopportunity for an experienced professional to lead the premier accrediting body for trauma systems in the country. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the President will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation staff, programs, and Board of Directors in carrying out its mission, vision, and values.


The President has primary responsibility for managing the organization’s activities and operations, directing, and coordinating the work of a professional staff and serving as the primary spokesperson for the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation.


The President will ensure that the organization is fiscally soundand that its operations meet the needs and interests of its constituents and the broad goals and objectives of the organization.


This role offers an opportunity to do meaningful work that has large-scale impacton saving lives and ensuring optimal care to injured patients not just through clinical care but also through research and injury prevention efforts. The new President will have the opportunity to take the organization to new heights beyond Pennsylvania. The President will inherit a strong and extremely knowledgeable team of professionals who have a strong work ethic, focused on providing the best service possible to hospitals.



Key Responsibilities:


Board Leadership and Support:

  • In collaboration with the PTSF Board of Directors identifies the objectives for the major functions in which the PTSF is engaged: standards development, all aspects of the accreditation processand data analysis; implements decisions and policies determined by the Board of Directors.
  • Oversees a strategic planning process in conjunction with the Board of Directors and senior leadership.
  • Responsible for the development, implementation, and accomplishment of the annual work plan of the PTSF as approved by the Board of Directors.
  • Serves as a strategic partner to the PTSF Board to ensure relevant, accurate and timely information is provided to inform and guide the Board’s strategic level thinking.


Organizational and Team Leadership

  • Actively engages and energizes staff, board members, committees, and partnering organizations regarding PTSF initiatives and strategic plan.
  • Leads, coaches, develops and retains a high-performing staff to implement short- and long-range plans and policies that forward the mission and strategic plan.
  • Oversee operations to ensure ongoing excellence with adherence to organizational mission, vision and values among staff and board members.
  • Ensures effective office support systems (i.e., equipment, software, contractors) in the areas of accreditation, trauma registry, performance improvement, research, and education.
  • Financial Management:
  • Responsible for the financial management of the corporation, including the development and implementation of the annual budget.


External Public Relations

  • Acts as an external localand national presence, fostering relationships that will garner new funding and strategic opportunities for the PTSF.
  • Serves as the face of the organization and actively networksand participates in external events to build relationships and increase visibility to advance the organization’s vision.
  • Deepens and refines all aspects of communications—from web presence to external relations with governmental agencies, state and national organizations with the goal of creating a stronger and well-informed trauma system.


Candidate Profile:


Professional Experience:

  • 10+ years of senior healthcare management experience in a trauma center environment.
  • Excellence in organizational management; demonstrated experience working with and for a Board of Directors.
  • Strong financial management skills; experience managingbudgets greater than $2 million.
  • A proven track record of developing high performing teams and leaders.
  • HR experience; updatingand implementing policies;recruiting, hiring, and onboarding staff.
  • Proven experience growing an organization and increasing its impact statewide and nationally.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Membership and activeinvolvement in relevantprofessional organizations.
  • Experience with growingan organization and increasing its impact.
