JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Production Support Engineer (Azure & PowerShell Expertise)

• Do you thrive on troubleshooting and ensuring systems run smoothly? Are you passionate about diving deep into technical challenges, especially those involving Microsoft Azure and Power Shell scripting? If so, then this Production Support Engineer role is for you

• In this role, you will be the backbone of our production environment, playing a critical part in ensuring our batch jobs execute flawlessly, leveraging your expertise in Azure and PowerShell.


You'll be responsible for:

Monitoring and Validating Batch Jobs with Azure and PowerShell (50%):

• You'll be the guardian of our batch jobs, ensuring they successfully run every time.

• involves close monitoring using Azure Monitor and PowerShell cmdlets, identifying any failures, and troubleshooting to pinpoint the root cause.

• Leverage PowerShell scripting to automate monitoring tasks and generate alerts for potential issues.

Expert Troubleshooting and Debugging with Azure and PowerShell (35-40%):

• A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to investigating and resolving batch job issues.

• You'll analyze job logs, meticulously examine output data (smoke testing), and leverage your debugging skills in conjunction with Azure debugging tools and PowerShell scripting to identify the exact point of failure.

Root Cause Analysis and Resolution:

• You won't just stop at identifying problems; you'll delve deeper to understand the root cause of failures.

• This analytical approach is crucial for preventing future occurrences.

Technical Expertise:

• You'll possess a strong foundation in SQL queries, enabling you to efficiently extract and analyze data from our databases.

• Additionally, your understanding of code validation will be a valuable asset in pinpointing potential issues within the batch jobs themselves.

• Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform for deploying and managing batch jobs is a plus.

• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting is essential for automating tasks, interacting with Azure resources, and troubleshooting batch job issues.

Communication and Collaboration:

• You'll work closely with development teams to effectively communicate identified issues and collaborate on solutions.

• Assigning ownership for identified failures will ensure timely resolution and prevent bottlenecks.


We are looking for a candidate with:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience)

• Minimum 4 years of experience in a production support role

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Experience with troubleshooting and debugging complex technical issues

• Proficiency in SQL queries

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

• A meticulous and detail-oriented approach


Bonus points if you have:

• Experience with additional scripting languages (e.g., Python)

• Knowledge of other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS)
