We manage hundreds of projects throughout North America catering to top architectural design firms, offering support and solutions throughout their specification and design processes. Our clients primarily consist of general contractors, trade unions, landscapers, metal fabricators and several government and transportation authorities. Project applications range from rooftop-enclosures and horizontal fall protection, to railing-infills and zoo enclosures. We design, produce, and deliver our (foreign and US-Melt) stainless steel cable and mesh systems to fit any budget or project demand. As we continue to grow and scale the business, we are in need of a Technical Product Specialist to round out our team and support our growing clientele.


Summary role

The Technical Product Specialist (TPS)/Project Manager is a vital member of the Sales and Marketing Department reporting directly to the VP of Sales. The TPS will ensure the accurate and timely delivery of orders while providing technical manufacturing, product, and installation expertise.


This role requires an in-depth understanding of architectural materials, product specifications, and construction drawings to ensure our products are designed and produced to meet the needs and expectations of our customers. You will work on approximately 150 existing orders and 150 new project leads annually, often juggling multi-phase and multi-line projects simultaneously. Every day is a new challenge and an opportunity to provide solutions


Key Responsibilities

-         Support Sales team members and clients during the proposal stage of potential projects. As sales grow and technical challenges increase, the TPS agent must guide clients through their technical concerns related to our products, driving the best possible outcome. In addition to advising clients, you would collaborate with sales team members to satisfy customer needs without compromising design intent.

-         Project support include material selection, architectural drawing interpretation, and cost analysis. Often projects are unique and require several iterations or customizations during the proposal and design phase. The product specialist must master all product types and design techniques to properly support our sales team and clients.

-         Working knowledge of technical services such as engineering and structural analysis is also a critical component of project support. While mostly performed by third parties, we offer higher order technical analysis for our larger, more specialized projects. You would be the bridge, linking suppliers, architects, engineers, and clients together to meet project specifications, streamlining the proposal to design process.

-         The Technical Product Specialist is the main contact with material suppliers and facilitates timely delivery and dispatch of resold and produced products. You would support the sales team and mange customer communications to keep clients informed of project lead-times and deliverables.

-         In close cooperation with purchasing, the TPS agent must analyze material cost to drive profitability, optimizing all material purchases.

-         The product specialist will also collaborate with sales and marketing to maintain our technical library, including, but not limited to, 3 Part CSI’s, AutoCAD details, product brochures, and other product related literature.

Skills and Qualifications

-         At least 3 years of building material experience or equivalent in a technical capacity.

-         Strong understanding of construction materials, codes, and installation principles.

-         Excellent communication skills as you will be in close contact with leads, customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

-         Excellent organizational skills, outgoing personality, and strong presentation abilities.

-         Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and Outlook, AutoCAD

-         Ability to interpret project specifications and various forms of drawings.
