Job Description: The Senior Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in driving growth and expanding our client base within the Full Truckload (FTL), Less than Truckload (LTL) and expedited transportation sectors. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience and a proven track record in these areas, along with exceptional field sales skills.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and Implement Prospecting Activities: Create and execute comprehensive prospecting activies to penetrate the FTL and LTL transportation markets, focusing on acquiring new business opportunities.
  2. Build and Nurture Client Relationships: Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with potential clients, understanding their transportation needs and offering tailored solutions to meet their requirements.
  3. Expand Business Pipeline: Identify and prospect new business leads, generating a robust pipeline of potential clients through various channels including networking, cold calling, and industry events.
  4. Collaborate with Internal Teams: Work closely with internal teams such as operations, customer service, and finance to ensure seamless execution of services and superior customer satisfaction.
  5. Stay Abreast of Industry Trends: Keep abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes within the transportation industry, providing insights to inform business strategies.
  6. Meet Sales Targets: Consistently meet or exceed sales targets and performance metrics set by the company, demonstrating a results-driven approach to business development.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development within the transportation industry, with a focus on FTL, LTL, and expedite services.
  • Proven track record of success in field sales, with the ability to build and manage a robust sales pipeline.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with clients at all levels.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive attitude and ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Hubspot.
  • Willingness to drive the DFW metroplex within territory.
