Production Coordinator


Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Coordinator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing purchase orders, fabric ordering and monitoring, consumption tracking, and garment allocation. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with our Central American manufacturing facilities to ensure timely and cost-efficient production.


Key Responsibilities:


Purchase Order Management:

  • Generate, process, and track purchase orders for raw materials and finished goods.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with fabric suppliers.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to confirm order details and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records of all purchase orders, deliveries, and discrepancies.
  • Resolve any issues related to purchase orders in a timely manner.


Fabric Ordering and Monitoring:

  • Determine fabric requirements based on production schedules and forecasts.
  • Place fabric orders with suppliers, ensuring all specifications and quality standards are met.
  • Monitor fabric delivery schedules and manage inventory levels to avoid production delays.


Consumption Tracking:

  • Monitor fabric and material usage to ensure efficient consumption and minimize waste.
  • Maintain detailed records of fabric consumption for each production run.
  • Analyze consumption data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Provide reports on consumption metrics to management.


Garment Allocation:

  • Allocate garments to various production lines based on production priorities and capacity.
  • Allocate specific fabrics to designated product types based on production needs.
  • Address any issues related to fabric assignments and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Monitor the progress of allocated garments through the production process.
  • Address any issues that arise during garment allocation and production.
  • Communicate fabric allocation plans and requirements to relevant departments to help build production schedules.


Collaboration with Central American Manufacturing Facilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for our Central American manufacturing points of contact.
  • Communicate production schedules, requirements, and any changes to the manufacturing facilities.
  • Monitor and ensure on time delivery to customers. Regularly coordinate with Logistics Team.
  • Conduct regular reviews and evaluations of manufacturing partner performance.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Textile Management, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in production coordination, supply chain management, or a related role in the apparel industry.
  • Strong understanding of purchase order management, fabric ordering, and inventory control.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and production management software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with international teams.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Central American manufacturing facilities.
  • Knowledge of textile and garment production processes.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
