Overview of role: Looking to augment the team with a documentation specialist/tech writer that specifically has experience building up process and procedure documents/KBA’s for organizational financial processes.


This person will be responsible for the production of job aids to document all financial working processes with click-down detailed step by step instructions, to enable a smooth onboarding process and strong knowledge base so business operation new team members can self-serve with minimal monitoring.


This role will work collaboratively with team members to gather proper documentation requirements to build a resource document repository for current and future teams around core processes.

Key projects: Document overall workflow, and click-down step by step instructions for below task groups:

  • Store Project related financial activities workflow
  • Flat file invoicing
  • Financial Close activities Checklist
  • Budget tracking
  • Non-FTE labor tracking process
  • Project financial tracking processes
  • Purchasing workflow, Sourcing Intake, Contract initiation, Change orders, SOW, PO, Contracts, etc.
  • Retail R&M reporting
  • Vendor and PM Reporting
  • Business Operations Intake Tasks job aids
  • Frequently used tools/systems instructions


Daily Responsibilities:

  • Consolidate all job aids into a unified format
  • Document the operational processes for all key financial activities
  • Refine existing job aids to be ‘self-serve’ ready
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to finalize procedures using Microsoft Word (Microsoft Suite), Adobe Acrobat
  • Create job aids from scratch by requirements gathering, interviews, working sessions
  • Organize job aids in a logical mindset, especially if they’re part of a larger task group
  • Looking to see where gaps need to be bridged
  • Creating and editing procedures and manuals for internal reference
  • Ensuring content accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery
  • Use Miro/OneNote for document requirements and updates


Required background? Skills?:

  • Ability to facilitate/lead documentation requirements gathering conversations
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
  • Ability to translate specific working process into repeatable and easy-to-follow steps, with clear illustration/screenshots/workflows when applicable.
  • Critical thinker
