Program Manager
We are looking for an enthusiastic Sustainability Program Manager to lead and enhance our sustainability initiatives. This role involves supporting communication, programming, marketing efforts, and overseeing an annual Sustainability Summit. Significant interaction with volunteer leaders and collaboration with partners and staff members is required.
As the Sustainability Program Manager, you will create and implement targeted materials using surveys, research, and input from a member advisory group. You will develop and strengthen relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to enhance our influence and positive impact on companies, organizations, and government entities.
We seek a passionate advocate for sustainable built environments who can proactively establish and nurture relationships, creating new opportunities for association and member engagement in sustainability across various markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Leadership: Manage and promote the Sustainability Program.
- Grant Program Oversight: Oversee and expand the Sustainability Grant Program.
- Summit Coordination: Plan and host an annual Sustainability Summit featuring high-profile presenters, members, and industry collaborators.
- Event Planning: Develop and execute program agendas and events, facilitating member discussions on relevant topics.
- Strategic Development: Collaborate with state and local associations, government agencies, partners, and industry groups to develop and implement sustainability strategies, partnerships, and benefits.
- Volunteer Collaboration: Work with volunteers and peers to shape the sustainability program’s voice and inform members of legislative, educational, and technical efforts.
- Resource Promotion: Recommend products, services, and resources beneficial to members and determine effective promotion methods.
- Outreach Coordination: Promote program resources, research, and industry trends through outreach with industry organizations.
- Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

- Experience: 5-7 years in writing, program development, and relationship building, with proven success in collaborating with volunteers and advisors.
- Collaboration Skills: Strong ability to collaborate across all organizational levels.
- Communication: Proven experience in developing compelling presentations and excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Budget Management: Proficiency in preparing, implementing, and managing program budgets.
- Results-Oriented: Demonstrated success in delivering results with a solution-focused approach.
- Sustainability Culture: Strong appreciation for a sustainability culture that promotes viability, resiliency, adaptability, and resource efficiency.
- ESG+R Understanding: Knowledge of ESG+R Reports and their goals and content.
- Quality and Deadlines: Ability to maintain quality standards and meet deadlines under a heavy workload.
- Problem-Solving and Project Management: Strong problem-solving and project management skills, along with high-level interpersonal diplomacy.
- Travel: Willingness to travel periodically to industry conferences.
