Role Overview: The Quality Engineering Support Specialist will provide centralized and dedicated quality engineering support to alleviate overflow activities at external suppliers. This role focuses on compiling and inputting data, supporting FAI/ special processes efforts for critical aerospace parts, and collaborating with various engineering organizations to ensure continued part progress.


Key Responsibilities:


Data Management:


  • Compile data from CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine).
  • Input data into non-conformance system
  • Quality Engineering Support:
  • Serve as the Quality Engineer for OEM
  • Support First Article Inspection (FAI), Significant Production Substantiation efforts for critical parts.
  • Perform other related engineering and supply chain tasks to maintain part progress.
  • Develop and adopt processes to support the supplier Quality team.
  • Collaboration and Producibility:
  • Support producibility action work outs at the assigned supplier.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Provide electronic files and weekly project status reports.


Preferred Skills:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in quality engineering, preferably in the aerospace industry.
  • Experience with CMM data compilation and nonconformance data input.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in quality management systems and tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant certifications in quality engineering or assurance are a plus.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen due to nature of the work
  • Regular onsite presence at supplier site in Groton, CT.


Physical Requirements & Work Environment:


• Mostly Office Environments, Occasional Shop Floor involvement.

• Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.

• Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.

• Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.

• Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9AM to 4PM

• Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.

• Due to the nature of the work, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or US Person
