About the Role

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that the highest quality standards are maintained throughout the manufacturing process. This position involves:
  • Facilitating Communication: Act as a liaison between clients and the organization to ensure that quality expectations are met and any issues are promptly addressed.
  • Quality Oversight: Review customer specifications and orders to identify specific requirements for materials and components, ensuring these are integrated into the production and inspection processes.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with various teams, including materials testing and casting layout, to ensure all parties are informed of requirements and that all testing results are accurately documented.
  • Managing Changes: Oversee modifications to customer orders or design blueprints, coordinating with teams to implement necessary adjustments while adhering to updated specifications.
  • Quality Auditing: Conduct audits of internal systems and processes, ensuring corrective measures are taken when necessary, and prioritize critical tasks such as weld repairs.
  • Client Engagement: Occasionally visit client facilities to resolve quality-related concerns.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a quality engineering capacity, preferably in a precision casting environment.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and their practical application in manufacturing.
  • Experience in conducting internal audits of quality systems.
  • A strong grasp of precision casting techniques and their associated quality control measures.
  • Proficiency in dimensional tolerancing, GD&T, and non-destructive testing methods.
  • Ability to interpret customer drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality control software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities focused on continuous improvement.
  • A keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining quality standards.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
