Sanrio is looking for a Marketing Operations Manager who has demonstrated success in managing production timelines, cross-functional operations, and delivery of campaigns and initiatives to launch.


As the Operations Manager for the Marketing team, you will help facilitate and project-manage many organizational and operational opportunities, providing greater insights and alignment for the Senior Leadership Team. You will be heavily involved in ensuring all Marketing business units have the tools and resources needed to plan, develop, and implement Marketing campaigns effectively, and that marketing operations function smoothly and efficiently.

The Deets (AKA: Job Responsibilities)

  • Operational management of brand and partner Marketing campaigns, creative development workflows, safeguarding projects adherence to schedules and budgets across multiple teams and disciplines.
  • Function as the connective tissue between Marketing, Sales, creative, E-com, Legal, and other crucial internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Marketing managers to execute brand and partner Marketing initiatives, ensuring alignment with project timelines, brand vision, and budget constraints.
  • Foster seamless cross-team collaboration involving Marketing, Sales, Creative, E-comm, External Agencies, and Legal to deliver high-quality marketing materials with efficiency and scale.
  • Oversee a Marketing CMS (Airtable) as the one source-of-truth system for our team that is able to communicate with other operational tools for project coordination, workflow, and management for internal teams and external partners.
  • Develop comprehensive timelines for the launch of projects within assigned milestones, stakeholders, deliverables, stages of reviews, and revisions within set SLAs that contribute to the overall success of our campaign and partnerships.
  • Support a culture of brand innovation by optimizing operational workstreams in consideration of Marketing strategy, creative ideation, content development, audience/fan engagement, and consumer retention.
  • Consider Sanrio’s brand, business units, and KPI requirements across teams while managing the production of marketing projects and campaign initiatives.
  • Key team member in communications, offering solutions to Marketing production challenges and problems, driving resolution whenever possible.
  • Communicate effectively through clear and concise written and verbal communication, acting as the Marketing production point of contact with partners that maintains project timelines, secures commitments, and identifies critical paths.
  • Monitor launch operations, triage issues, and adapt to the needs of Marketing’s cross-functional workstreams.
  • Provide insight to the Senior Leadership team on progress on key priorities, projects, and initiatives
  • Partner with Business Unit leaders and key collaborators to ensure the new workflow and processes are understood, followed, and evaluated.
  • Draft, submit, and organize Project Approval Requests (PARs).
  • Monitor and maintain expense accounts and budget.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.


What do YOU bring to the table (AKA: Experience prerequisites)

  • 5+ years of Marketing project management experience, preferably in a Brand Marketing department within a company or a Marketing agency.
  • Strong point of view, a passion for project management, and a track record of establishing successful workflows and processes.
  • An organized approach, precise attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, crystal-clear communication skills; the ability to lead productive meetings, put together logical project plans, write effective email communications, and speak diplomatically to clients.
  • Expert multi-tasker with the ability to switch gears quickly and handle multiple moving pieces with grace, while being able to identify problem areas and set boundaries with partners. 
  • Knowledgeable in all areas of the Brand Marketing process; capable of communicating with Creatives, Sales, and external partners with equal amounts of success. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of content management systems (CMS) like Airtable and troubleshooting across multiple platform systems and tools (i.e. Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, etc). 
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies and risk management principles is desirable.
  • Vendor management experience reviewing contracts, proposals and presentations for cross-functioning consideration is a plus.
  • Mastery in creating next-level presentations.



*Even though this is a hybrid position, candidates must be located in Southern California and able to work in our Torrance office at least 2 days per week.
