Responsibilities & Performance Standards:


  • Physical Subsystems Development:** Responsible for Security & Surveillance Systems, Intrusion Detection, Key Management, Personnel Access Control, Security Monitoring, and Vehicle Access Control.
  • Networking- Handle LAN, SAN, WAN, WLAN, cabling, OSP, ship-to-shore network cabling, SCS.
  • Telephony -Manage hotlines, VoIP systems.
  • Miscellaneous- Systems Emergency Operations, Entertainment Systems, Process Video Monitoring, UPS & Battery Systems, Weather Monitoring, Site Notification, Paging, Public Announcement, Wide Area Mass Notification.
  • Radio Frequency Systems- Aeronautical Radio, Cellular Distributed Antenna, Collision Avoidance Radar, EPIRB, Microwave, NAVAIDS, UHF, VHF Marine Radio, VSAT.


Basic Job Requirements

- Must be U.S. Citizen.

- Accredited 4-year degree in engineering or global equivalent.

- 10+ years of experience in a significant project role, demonstrating expertise in interface management, project controls, and design or engineering.


Discipline Specific Job Requirements

- Maintain and follow established schedules.

- Prepare and review estimates for projects.

- Develop and upgrade Engineering Standards and Procedures.

- Check calculations, sketches, and layouts.

- Review supplier drawings and ensure compliance.

- Produce specifications, calculations, sketches, and diagrams.

- Inspect equipment for compliance with specifications.

- Implement training for assigned personnel.

- Undertake field assignments as needed.

- Provide technical information and coordinate between design and project groups.

- Initiate equipment quotation and purchase requests.

- Perform complex, specialized assignments as a technical expert.

- Understand and recognize issues in Instrumentation and Controls practices.

- Display a professional attitude and image.

- Add value and reduce project costs through innovative suggestions.

- Actively market the Communications & Security Systems engineering discipline.
