KBR is in search of a Telecommunications Engineering Project Lead who will oversee the technical and operational aspects of the Telecommunications segment for a significant greenfield refining and petrochemical venture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to the Safety, Health, and Environmental protocols; demonstrate a commitment to maintaining high safety standards and be proactive in reporting any safety violations.
  • Guarantee compliance with the Quality Assurance Plan, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop and sustain engineering plans that support ongoing operations.
  • Manage multiple projects across various phases, focusing on cost, scope, schedule, and internal reporting requirements.
  • Utilize strong organizational and interpersonal skills to influence both internal and external stakeholders, achieving measurable outcomes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external engineering teams to produce necessary deliverables for the Engineering Stage Gate Process.
  • Under broad supervision, take responsibility for executing engineering designs in accordance with relevant specifications and standards to meet project goals related to telecommunications.
  • Ensure projects fulfill objectives regarding cost, schedule, and scope by overseeing the development, design, and execution of assigned projects.
  • Oversee accurate budgeting, estimating, forecasting, and reporting for assigned projects.
  • Provide clear and precise scopes of work and construction packages, including all necessary documentation.
  • Identify and manage project risks effectively.
  • Facilitate safety and constructability assessments.
  • Create requisitions for engineered components and develop spare parts inventories.
  • Report on cost management (including forecasting) and schedule performance.
  • Address and resolve technical and commercial issues related to project objectives.
  • Maintain effective communication with leadership, engineers, designers, document control, procurement, project controls, and other departments.
  • Ensure all project documentation is completed accurately.

Required Qualifications:

EDUCATION:
4-year Bachelor's degree in Engineering

10+ years of experience in industrial refining and/or petrochemical sectors

5+ years of experience in project management

Total Minimum 15 years of relevant experience

Proven experience in developing specifications and system designs

Experience in leading initiatives and managing suppliers

Demonstrated expertise in Telecommunications

Experience in Cyber Security is essential

Strong organizational capabilities and effective task prioritization skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interaction with team members, clients, and stakeholders.

Proactive problem-solving skills and a forward-thinking approach to project challenges.

Attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate project documentation. Exceptional communication skills to present designs and plans, fostering relationships with clients.

Experience with detailed drawing production for Telecom systems using CAD software is advantageous.

Experience in specification development, system design, and component selection.

Ability to collaborate with other disciplines and understand their interface requirements.

Experience in the design and/or construction of industrial plants is desirable.

Familiarity with NEC, IEC, ISA & IEEE standards, methods, and practices.

Management of virtualization technologies.

Deployment and operation of servers, network devices, and storage systems.

Design telecom networks and solutions across multiple hierarchical levels.

Document network configurations, traffic formats, and operational theories.

Manage all levels of network equipment and configure related protocol layers, including high-capacity transport (e.g., DWDM), multi-layered traffic (IP, Ethernet/VLAN, MPLS), and edge routing/switching.

Conduct network capture/recording, analysis, and replay, including both LAN packets and broadband bitstreams.

Craft network traffic (protocol layers and content).

Implement and troubleshoot long-haul telecommunication links.

Focus on Decarbonization, Energy Transition, and Sustainability initiatives.
