Position Overview:
Tru Fragrance & Beauty | Le Monde Gourmand is seeking an experienced and dynamic Field Sales and Training Manager to oversee and drive retail sales across a designated territory. This hands-on role requires a strong leader who can travel directly to stores to manage account relationships, execute events, develop and train retails staff members, and act as a brand ambassador. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in retail management and sales, with a focus on fragrance/beauty or a related industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Retail Sales & Account Management
- Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals for the assigned territories and retail partners.
- Maintain a strong in-field presence, leading by example through active selling and training.
- Oversee and execute trainings, events, and brand initiatives within the territory.
- Take ownership of sales goals, adjusting strategies based on performance and achievements.
- Lead planning and executing major events.
- Meet all new product launch sales goals.
- Provide exceptional customer service by ensuring that the customer takes priority at all times
- Fully support and align with all key business initiatives and new product launches.
- Review business results and team performance with the Sales department on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
- Conduct monthly reviews of objectives versus performance with all stores in the territory, and when necessary, communicate weekly with the top 10 volume stores.
- Proactively inform store teams of all seasonal marketing activities well in advance for optimal preparation.
- Identify promising sales managers and take leadership in building the sales team.
- Manage Sales team budget.
Brand Ambassador
- Help bringing awareness to Le Monde Gourmand at the point of sale by driving strong productivity and sales results.
- You will ensure that customers are given high-level, high-quality service by maintaining a tidy and presentable counter/gondola, advising customers by utilizing expert product knowledge and demonstration of the full product range, and you will be charged with ensuring store teams are trained and motivated on a daily basis.
- Welcome clients and identify their needs.
- Provide outstanding quality of service.
- Communicate category trends and key product performance.
- Remain current and knowledgeable of industry trends, to determine opportunities to maximize sales within the market.
- Collect meaningful customer data for the purpose of building relationships and personalizing future client development opportunities.
- Create a positive and rewarding client experience, that is warm and hospitable in all customer interactions.
In-Store Operations
- Inspect and ensure necessary stock levels are maintained (i.e., ensuring minimum display quantities are correct and implemented).
- Ensure the counter/gondola is spotless, clean, and well maintained.
- Ensure planograms/merchandising guidelines are consistently and frequently inspected.
- Develop and leverage positive retailer relationships to maximize store level support.
- Build and maintain successful relationships between the team, management, and retailer employees.
Training
- Lead and oversee all training efforts for retailer associates and management.
- Inspire retail staff to effectively sell the brand, even in your absence.
- Ensure all selling staff can understand and articulate Le Monde Gourmand brand story and strategy to retails staff and end-customers.
- Conduct market trainings seasonally, both in-person and virtually, to introduce new products.
- Follow up on educational video viewings at retailers and conduct retention checks.
- Track all trainings and complete related documents promptly.
- Participate in all sales conference calls.
- Provide feedback to Brand Director and Sales to improve results.
- Own and optimize any education materials as well as give insight to enhance marketing materials.
Sales Strategy Management
- Manage and execute seasonal retailer strategies as presented by Sales department.
- Directly manage and develop Sales and Training strategy within designated territory.
- Review business progress weekly with Sales and store management, coaching as necessary.
- Develop and oversee business-driving strategies for focus doors within the territory.
- Plan and execute events throughout the territory from start to finish.
- Oversee freelancer hiring, planning, scheduling, and timecard submission, ensuring adherence to budgets.
- Regularly review freelancer performance, making personnel changes as needed.
- Spend 3-4 days/week in-store, with 1-2 days/week in-office/remote.
- Complete all reporting promptly, including expenses, sales reports, and training recaps.
- Develop a call cycle/calendar by the 15th of each month for the following month, sharing schedules with the Sales department.
- Lead all retail District Manager meetings within the territory.
Qualifications:
- BS/High School Diploma required.
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience in the cosmetics industry preferred.
- 3+ years of multi-door retail management experience required.
- Experience with Ulta Beauty stores are meritorious.
- Minimum of 5 years sales experience, with a preference for cosmetics.
- Goal-driven with the ability to multi-task.
- Creative and resourceful in event planning and product knowledge training.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Enthusiastic, friendly, and positive energy.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Demonstrated ability to quantify performance and retail growth YOY.
