Job Summary

The Human Resources Business Partner position will provide tactical and strategic HR support to personnel within our Terminal location, using applicable knowledge in human resources with developed interpersonal, organizational and technical skills. Maintains strict confidentiality and assists management and employees with HR related matters and leads various HR projects in alignment with organizational objectives.


Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic partnership and HR support to Freeport LNG operations to assess business goals, assist & implement talent strategies to advance priorities by understanding how each department and role work and interact.
  • Support all levels of employees within client groups, explaining procedures and policies in a timely manner.
  • Able to handle employee relations - counseling/coaching and employee separation process within skill level, escalating matters as appropriate.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Responds to government and agency inquiries and complies with all reporting requirements, escalating matters as appropriate.
  • Assists in the annual compensation program and the administration of the performance appraisal program at Freeport LNG’s Terminal locations.
  • Assists in the recruitment efforts for all positions within Freeport LNG’s Terminal locations exempt and non-exempt personnel, students, and temporary employees; responsible for writing job descriptions; manages coordination of pre-employment candidate assessment testing processes for specified non-exempt positions; conducts new-employee orientations.
  • Administers various human resources plans and procedures for Freeport LNG’s Terminal personnel; assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
  • Assists in the administration, development and implementation of the training & employee development programs and practices for Freeport LNG’s Terminal locations.


Minimum Qualification/Work Experience

Minimum Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or other business major

3+ years of strategic HR Experience


Preferred:

MBA or other related Master’s level degree

HR experience supporting plant operations environment

PHR/SPHR/SHRM certification


Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration, i.e. competency identification and mapping, HR strategy, succession planning, employee attraction & retention, workforce planning, etc.
  • Must operate with the highest level of integrity, diplomacy and maintain strict confidentiality
  • Ability to think about the long term strategy of Freeport LNG’s Terminal and efficiently apply HR’s available resources to and determine where to invest them for the most impact
  • Ability to make efficient data driven decisions
  • Demonstrated professionalism, efficiency and dependability
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Must be proficient in the use of PC equipment and software including Windows and MS Office products (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point and Visio)
  • Read, analyze and interpret reports and documents
  • Ability to solve practical problems with minimal guidance
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and tasks


HSE Roles and Responsibilities

Support the policies, efforts, and programs of Freeport LNG Health, Safety and Environmental Management System. Actively participate in the HSE Management System Policies. Ensure that HSE concerns are given priority in all activities completed within their area of responsibility. Implement routine inspections to ensure safe operating conditions.
