Regulatory Compliance Engineer

SUMMARY:

The regulatory compliance engineer will be responsible for various technical activities supporting the certification requirements of Intermatic products as well as on going compliance and understanding of future standards/requirements that could affect Intermatic design. This position includes direct involvement with various regulatory bodies (e.g. UL/CSA, NEC, NEMA to name a few) along with advisory responsibly to support project management teams and understanding of current and future regulatory requirements within the industry. This position will be located in Libertyville, IL, with potential domestic, Canadian, and Mexico travel of up to 10%.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintain active contributions to CSA, NEMA, EFC, UL/CSA where possible
  • Product regulatory requirements expert acting as chief liaison to product management and development teams
  • Internal conduit for Prop 65, Title 20 and Title 24 updates and changes as they affect current and future product designs
  • Work with Intermatic Laboratory manager regarding Certification test planning
  • Certification data management
  • Daily/Weekly certification status reports
  • Partner with product development and management teams in support of the certification of new products as well as ongoing compliance of current products within Intermatic’s product portfolio.
  • Regulatory agency interface for certification and compliance affairs


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • 2 - 5 years of experience working with regulatory bodies (UL experience preferred)
  • High level of ethical and technical decision-making ability in accordance with certification standards and regulation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Excellent technical communication and presentation skills
  • Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills
