Vice President of Business Development

Position Summary: Joining as the Vice President of Sales, you'll play a pivotal role in steering our company's sales function. Your mission will be to develop and execute strategic sales initiatives, oversee a team of top-tier sales professionals, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure we meet and exceed our sales targets. This role is based in our office full-time with occasional travel opportunities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and seize new business opportunities for expansion and renewal.
  • Optimize existing partnerships and sales strategies for maximum performance.
  • Nurture strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage key client relationships, with a focus on seamless onboarding transitions to client services.
  • Elevate our company's profile and brand reach through innovative sales initiatives.
  • Lead the sales team, delivering exceptional customer service in collaboration with the VP of Marketing & Client Engagement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive sustainable, long-term growth.
  • Monitor emerging markets and trends to inform strategic decisions and identify new expansion opportunities.
  • Cultivate an entrepreneurial growth culture within the organization.
  • Forge strategic partnerships to bolster our company's position.
  • Contribute to shaping the company's long-term strategic objectives.
  • Offer insights on product development, distribution, and promotional strategies.
  • Leverage CDMO industry expertise to mitigate risks effectively.
  • Actively pursue new business opportunities and execute manufacturing sales strategies.
  • Efficiently manage and develop human and digital resources.
  • Implement programs to optimize production capacity and meet business needs.
  • Oversee compensation plans and ensure accurate commission payments.
  • Provide proactive support to ensure successful execution of quotes and agreements.
  • Utilize resources to identify and capitalize on business opportunities.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, with 4-10 years of sales experience in the CMO/CDMO industry or equivalent.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales goals within the industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of industry landscape, trends, and competitor offerings.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools like Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with presentation software, communication tools, and collaboration platforms.
  • Working knowledge of digital marketing tools and business intelligence platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing sales teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to provide effective performance feedback.
