Lead Superintendent – Major Rail Modernization Project

The Civi Group has partnered with a highly successful General Contractor in Providence in their search for a Lead Superintendent. Our client generates $60M/year in revenue and is a stable, growing operation with over 40 years of experience in the industry.
This Lead Superintendent will be involved in a high-profile project: the modernization of Providence Station. As an essential intercity rail hub situated on the nation’s most critical rail corridor, Providence Station ranks 11th in Amtrak station ridership nationwide and boasts one of the highest commuter rail riderships within the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) system.
The project aims to address state of good repair (SOGR) deficiencies and replace existing assets to enhance station capacity. This modernization effort is funded through a Federal Rail Administration (FRA) grant secured jointly by Amtrak and the Rhode Island Department of Transportation. Compensation depends on experience but is up to 150K on base + company vehicle / vehicle stipend.
Job Title: Lead Superintendent
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all site personnel.
- Oversee the quality of construction work, ensuring adherence to plans, specifications, and industry standards.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinating with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Lead and coordinate the efforts of subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site personnel to ensure effective teamwork and communication.
- Maintain detailed daily logs of site activities and progress reports, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to project managers and stakeholders.
Skills & Qualification:
- At least 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in civil or heavy civil construction projects.
- Extensive knowledge of construction processes, methods, and best practices, particularly in rail infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
- Proficiency with Procore, Office365, and Adobe PDF.
