Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies and business development plans to achieve company objectives, revenue and profit margin goals.
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify new business opportunities and areas for growth.
- Create and execute go-to-market strategies for new products and services.
Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring alignment with company goals and core values.
- Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations for team members.
- Oversee recruitment, training, and development of sales staff.
- Work closely with other divisions within the company to ensure alignment with business objectives
Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships, and strategic alliances.
- Maintain relationships with key clients, industry leaders, alongside of the sales teams to enhance the company’s market position.
- Conduct presentations, negotiations, and contract discussions with potential clients and partners with internal teams and salespeople.
- Identify national/ state and local contracts.
Sales Management:
- Develop, grow, and manage the sales pipeline, ensuring a steady flow of qualified leads and opportunities.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, adjusting strategies as needed to meet targets and optimize results.
- Implement best practices for sales processes, customer engagement, and lead generation.
Market Analysis and Reporting:
- Conduct market research to understand customer needs, preferences, and buying behaviors.
- Prepare regular reports on sales performance, business development activities, and market trends for senior management.
- Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions and drive strategic initiatives.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new clients and manufacturers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Address client concerns, resolve issues, and identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional services and products.
Budget and Forecasting:
- Develop and manage the sales and business development budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Prepare sales forecasts and budgets, and track performance against targets.
Marketing
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to drive revenue growth, brand awareness, and profitability growth.
- Conduct market research to identify market trends, and competitive positioning.
- Execute promotional events, trade shows and other marketing activities to enhance brand visibility and generate leads
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or related field
- Proven track record of successful sales and business development experience, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a senior management role
- History of strong sales tenure
- Proven ability to lead a team to meet quotas
- Experience setting sales goals
- Deep understanding of Salesforce
