Seawolf Therapeutics is an early-stage venture-backed gene therapy company based in San Diego, CA. We are an innovative and collaborative team set to transform the current landscape of therapeutics by developing next-generation non-viral genetic medicines that will be first-in-class and best-in-class therapeutics aimed for treating diseases with highly unmet medical need. Position Summary:
We are seeking a talented formulation Sr. RA/Associate Scientist to be a key member of the platform development team to enable discovery research and development efforts. The individual will be actively engaged in the development of the core delivery technology of advanced nucleic acid-based therapeutics. This involves the development of highly intricate lipid-based nano-formulations, including optimization and trouble-shooting of the formulation process and exploration of novel materials. The ideal candidate will have hands on experience with formulations of lipid nanoparticles for the delivery of nucleic-acid based pharmaceuticals. The ideal candidate is expected to be a strong collaborator with a strong passion to work in cutting edge technology, enjoys scientific discovery and can communicate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic and interdisciplinary environment
Responsibilities:
- Support the development of unique and novel nucleic acid-based formulations
- Characterize product profiles for process optimization and batch-to-batch reproducibility
- Maintain meticulous documentation of all experimental data, procedures and protocols
- Maintain organized storage and inventory of supplies and materials
- Collaborate with a team of scientists to creatively solve problems and drive innovation
- Maintain high standards for scientific integrity and accountability
- Communicate across departments and support project teams
Requirements:
- BS/MS with 2 years of industry experience (Chemistry, chemical engineering, bioengineering or other related field)
Prior hands-on experience with the following:
- Nano-formulation of nucleic acid-based therapeutics, filtration techniques, characterization of nanoparticulated matter.
- Pipetting, buffer preparation, analytical balance
- Experience with HPLC, UV-Vis, fluorescent plat assays is an advantage
- Able to conduct self-directed research and thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced entrepreneurial setting with a diverse team of coworkers
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, outstanding interpersonal skills, creativity, enthusiasm, reliability, and attention to detail
- Scientifically curious, paired with a strong work ethic and grit

The anticipated pay range for candidates who will work in San Diego, CA is $33.00 - $57.00/hour. The final pay rate offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc.
