Job Overview: The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) plays a crucial role in supporting the institution's mission by providing strategic HR guidance and operational support to various academic and administrative departments. The HRBP serves as a trusted advisor to department heads and managers, collaborating closely to address workforce challenges, implement HR initiatives, and cultivate a positive work culture.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic HR Planning: Collaborate with department leaders to understand their objectives and develop HR strategies aligned with university goals. Proactively identify workforce trends, anticipate talent needs, and recommend solutions to enhance organizational effectiveness.
  2. Employee Relations: Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations matters, including performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions. Provide guidance and support to managers to ensure fair and consistent treatment of employees.
  3. Talent Acquisition and Onboarding: Partner with hiring managers to develop recruitment strategies, including job postings, candidate sourcing, and selection processes. Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition and alignment with university policies and procedures.
  4. Training and Development: Assess training needs within departments and coordinate professional development opportunities to enhance employee skills and competencies. Provide guidance on career development, succession planning, and talent management initiatives.
  5. Performance Management: Support the performance management process by providing guidance on goal setting, performance evaluations, and feedback mechanisms. Assist managers in identifying performance improvement opportunities and developing action plans as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a business partner or advisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
