Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operations of the rink in, ensuring a vibrant and memorable experience for all visitors while fostering a dynamic and engaging environment.
- Manage the opening and closing procedures of the venue, ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience for guests while maintaining operational excellence and safety standards.
- Create schedules for staff and monitor lunch breaks to ensure adequate coverage and compliance with labor regulations.
- Ensuring timely delivery of services and adherence to quality standards.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of supplies and equipment, coordinating with procurement to replenish as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring a positive experience for guests and clients.
- Assist in the training and supervision of operations staff, including box office, front and back of house staff members, ensuring a well-trained and motivated team.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment, identifying maintenance needs and coordinating with relevant departments for repairs or replacements.
- Collaborate with various departments, such as facilities, security, concessions, and box office, to ensure smooth coordination and communication.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve operations and customer experiences.
- Uphold safety protocols and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Assist in the planning and execution of special events, including coordinating logistics, staffing, and guest services.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sports Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in operations, event management, or a related role is a plus.
- Passion for the sports and entertainment industry and a desire to break into this field.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast- paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and interface with clients and guests.
- Proactive problem-solving abilities and a customer-centric mindset.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on the event schedule.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
- Knowledge of safety and emergency procedures is desirable.
- Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy objects and stand or walk for extended periods.
Compensation
$26.00 - $28.00 Hourly
Physical Demands
This position requires the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
Working Environment
This position generally requires that work be performed from the Wollman Rink offices, but attendance at events taking place at the rink or offsite, including on weekends and/or holidays, may be required. This position requires frequent outdoor work and exposure to varying weather conditions due to the nature of the business.
