Transactional (Business, Estate Planning, and/or Real Estate) Paralegal Position at Toews Bio & Abram, Inc., San Luis Obispo, CA


Toews Bio & Abram, Inc. is a small law firm located in the heart of Downtown San Luis Obispo. We are seeking an upbeat and motivated full-time paralegal to join and strengthen our team At Toews Bio & Abram, Inc., we offer a collaborative work environment and recognize that our team is integral to our ability to provide exceptional work for our clients.


Responsibilities:

· Assist in the initial drafting of corporate formation matters, including establish and later limited liability companies and corporations, and non-profits, and EIN procurement.

· Assist attorneys in trust and estates transactions, including drafting estate plan documents, trust funding documents, compiling supporting documentation, and related activities.

· Manage due diligence, title review, preparation of deeds, transfer documents, and responsibilities related to commercial real estate agreements, including updating and maintaining the real estate portfolio, drafting and revising leases, amendments, and other related documents.

· Meet and communicate with clients, welcome and assist them in a friendly manner, emphasizing confidentiality and sensitivity, and conduct preliminary intake procedures with new clients.

· Maintain client files and firm calendar, including tracking deadlines, monitoring and managing multiple calendars, scheduling consultations and appointments, and completing data entry related to new and active clients.

· Answer, direct, and screen phone calls, and engage with clients via phone, email, and regular mail.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in business transactions, or estate planning.
  • Paralegal studies or a background in business or accounting is preferred but not required.
  • Strong follow-up and follow-through skills, excellent organization, time management, proofreading, and word processing skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience and proficiency with office equipment, technology, and software, especially Windows 10 OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization and demonstrate a team-oriented work style.


Our work environment is relaxed but professional, and we value a healthy work-life balance. The position will require the candidate to work in office. We maintain regular office hours:

  • Monday - Thursday: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with an hour lunch break.
  • Fridays: 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. (plus office luncheon, and we still get paid for a full 8-hour day)


Salary range that we expect to pay for this position to start at $25.00 per hour. The actual salary offered may vary based on experience, qualifications or other relevant factors. Benefits include 13 paid holidays, sick pay, a stipend for health insurance, and accrued vacation pay.
