RF DAS Field Engineer I/II- Sacramento-CA & New York Metro area ( Manhattan)

Looking for RF DAS Field Engineer and are focusing on enterprise cellular networks, including Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), Small Cell, and 4G/5G Private Wireless Networks.


Job Description:

The System Performance Engineer will ensure that installed systems operate as designed, meeting customer standards, practices, and SLA's while fulfilling contractual obligations.


Responsibilities:

  • Onsite technical implementation and troubleshooting of In-Building DAS and managed networks.
  • Perform pre and post RF benchmark data collection and analysis.
  • Interface with operations teams to ensure networks are built to the highest quality standards.
  • Perform various testing and maintenance tasks (e.g., CW testing, spectrum analysis, system sweep testing, PIM and OTDR testing).
  • Support NOC and respond to Technical Trouble Tickets to resolve performance issues.
  • Ensure Regional Director/Operations Manager and customers are aware of any issues impacting project completion or budget.
  • Use small hand tools for minor installation tasks.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation using a cloud-based file system.
  • Generate technical updates, reports, and MOPs for the In-Building DAS systems.
  • Manage project deliverables for closeout packages.
  • Continuously improve practices based on lessons learned in the design and implementation process.
  • Support DAS troubleshooting, including collaboration with Mobile Network Operators and Neutral Host venues.
  • Oversee AHJ inspections and 3rd party testing as necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with operation teams and clients to meet or exceed contractual obligations.
  • Provide technical guidance to the Project Manager and other team members to prevent or mitigate issues.
  • Learn new DAS hardware and software quickly, even under pressure.



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Five years of experience in RF Engineering, In-Building DAS, RAN, or Small Cell with RF Math competency.
  • Advanced knowledge of industry test equipment (e.g. Spectrum Analyzer, Demodulator, Cable Analyzer, Power Meters, Scanners, UE’s).
  • Ability to complete RF Link Budgets, Power Sharing, and Noise Figure Calculations.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and iBwave design files.
  • DAS commissioning, Integration, troubleshooting and optimization.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet customer deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, verbal and written communication skills, and computer skills (Bluebeam, Microsoft Office suite).
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments.
  • Willingness to travel within the region (90% field travel) with a valid driver's license.

  • Entry-level candidates with DAS experience are welcome, and on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Pay will be commensurate with experience.
