Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and analyses to support management decision-making.
- Maintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and oversee annual audits and liaise with external auditors.
- Manage budgeting and forecasting activities, providing detailed variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with other departments to support overall company goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
