Responsibilities:
Content:
- Own the content strategy to increase qualified organic traffic aligned with business goals.
- Ideate and optimize SEO strategies based on industry trends, algorithm updates, primary business KPIs, and reported SEO KPIs.
- Execute SEO strategies and tactics with internal teams and vendors to achieve business objectives.
- Conduct extensive keyword research to discover and prioritize opportunities and integrate keywords efficiently.
- Use keyword research to influence external messaging and promotions and align on-site content with larger initiatives to achieve business objectives.
Technical:
- Implement and maintain on-site technical SEO. Address technical issues and stay up to date with the latest best practices.
- Establish and maintain a high-quality backlink profile for primary and sister domains.
Analytics:
- Continuously test content, layouts, products, and metadata to increase qualified organic traffic.
- Collect, analyze, and report on SEO and performance funnel KPIs daily, weekly, and monthly.
- Use reporting insights to refine priorities and strategies.
Expectations:
- 8+ years of SEO work experience, with at least 5 years in e-commerce and 3 years in a legally regulated space (finance, supplements, alcohol, etc.).
- Proven results generating high-quality and effective backlinks.
- In-depth understanding of how search engines crawl, render, index, and rank web pages.
- Proficiency in SEO-related XML, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
- Strong understanding of GA4. Certification is a plus but not required.
- Ability to utilize performance data to inform marketing communications and decisions.
- Full understanding of the performance funnel from click to conversion.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate findings concisely and actionable.
- Data-driven mindset with the confidence to present findings clearly and assertively.
- Experience with Shopify preferred but not required.
