What you will do

A Logistics Planner and Analyst is responsible for optimizing the flow of goods, materials, and information throughout a company’s supply chain. Their role includes planning, analyzing, and managing logistics operations to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of products.


How you will do it

  • Accountable for managing all domestic truckloads, ocean shipments, carrier partnerships ensuring the best cost and service.
  • Manage inbound, outbound and 3rd party shipments, inventory transfers to comply delivery, costing and service level expectations.
  • Negotiate and spot buy with rate carriers, brokers and freight forwarders to ensure the organization receives best cost and service.
  • Provide support for equipment movement quotations and project movements, while also maintaining a file for all pricing requests.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements across the supply chain and implement strategies to achieve goals.
  • Assess and mitigate supply chain risks, including distribution, delays, and quality issues, to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards in all supply chain and logistics activities.
  • Monitor and tracking all shipments generated and provide updates to internal/external customers as needed.
  • Work with related departments to monitor processes and procedures to comply with regulatory and government requirements where apply.
  • Provide analysis for freight cost, carrier performance and implement metrics to control and improve service levels.
  • Monitor and control freight expenses to satisfy budget goals and unit costs.
  • Adhere to all domestic and international shipping regulations.
  • Analyze freight data to determine the most cost-effective method to transport product by identifying opportunities to create milk runs, multi-stop deliveries, LTL volume shipments and order/shipment consolidations.
  • Monitors carrier performance and develops meaningful metrics for process and service improvement opportunities.
  • Works closely with the Logistics Procurement team to provide research and cost modeling for negotiating rates with carriers to fully use the resources and leverage of JCI spend across the other business divisions and, if possible, regions.


What we look for

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in retail logistics, supply chain management, or any related field, with a focus on international and domestic shipping.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong background in logistics, international and domestic shipping, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate across multiple departments to ensure operational efficiency and financial results.
  • Strong understanding of logistics, freight forwarding, and customs processes.
  • Required Experience with domestic truckload managing FTL, LTL and parcel.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with internal/external customers and suppliers.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • The ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems.
  • Able to perform at a high level in both individual and team settings
  • Self-motivated, efficiently managing timelines, targets.
  • Teamwork oriented.
