SCOPE OF WORK

  • You will report to the President and will assume responsibility for the accounting and finance function. You will lead and oversee the IT function, including integrity of systems and controls, HR functions, insurance, and risk management, claims administration, banking relationships and cash management and legal and surety.
  • Lead month-end close processes to ensure the timely and precise preparation of financial statements. direct hands-on responsibilities include preparing the financial statements, including income, balance sheet and shareholder reports, tax filings and governmental agency reporting, sales and profit projections, budget to actual with projects, and eventually develop multi-year financial projections.
  • You’ll collaborate with the President and other senior executives on strategic planning, budgeting and projections and other important initiatives to reach business goals.
  • Partner with company leadership and internal decision makers to set operational standards and drive financial compliance initiatives.
  • Manage the approval of contracts with vendors.
  • Maintain all existing banking relationships and oversee daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
  • On a yearly basis: Prepare statements for review by audit team and oversee tax return obligations.
  • This is a hands-on role, and the CFO may also have responsibilities related to the service of legal process monitoring, monitoring of intercompany transactions, risk insurance administration, GC and business license renewals, and secretary of state registrations, as well as any other firm needs not explicitly outlined in this job description.


IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and CPA certification
  • 8+ years of accounting experience, with at least 4 in a leadership role
  • Background in percentage completion accounting
  • Experience with strategic financial leadership
  • 3+ years of recent work experience in the construction industry and an ability to understand the financial nuances present within a construction firm.
