Role Purpose:


The Inventory Lead will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in inventory management, playing a pivotal role in ensuring seamless operations across our Robotics Deployment projects. This individual will drive process improvements, design and implement strategic changes, and oversee the management of all inventory-related functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing productivity, ensuring compliance, and maintaining the highest standards of material management across all deployment activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management and Optimization:

  • Develop and oversee robust processes for all aspects of material movement and inventory control, ensuring that operations meet stringent safety, quality, and productivity standards.
  • Implement and continually improve inventory management systems, ensuring they are adaptable to the evolving needs of our Robotics Deployment projects.
  • Establish comprehensive documentation, operating instructions, and management systems that standardize inventory processes across multiple sites and ensure consistency in execution.

Strategic Process Development:

  • Identify, develop, and implement innovative strategies that optimize material flow, reduce waste, and improve productivity within the deployment process.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement, developing targeted solutions to enhance overall performance.
  • Continuously assess existing workflows and implement process enhancements that contribute to operational excellence, aligning with broader project goals.

Site Deployment and Execution:

  • Deploy to project sites to oversee inventory management operations, ensuring that all processes are implemented efficiently and that teams adhere to established protocols.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for on-site inventory management, working closely with the Project Manager, Director, and site teams to resolve any challenges that arise.
  • Provide hands-on leadership during site deployments, ensuring that all material management activities are executed to the highest standards.

Client and Stakeholder Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, project teams, and vendors, ensuring that all parties are aligned with project objectives.
  • Support the Project Manager and Director in client presentations, bid processes, and high-level decision-making related to inventory management.
  • Effectively communicate progress, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders, ensuring that all parties are informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead, manage, and mentor multiple teams across various locations, ensuring that all team members are equipped with the knowledge and tools they need to succeed.
  • Foster a collaborative environment where team members feel empowered to contribute ideas, take ownership of their responsibilities, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide regular feedback and support to team members, encouraging professional growth and development while ensuring alignment with project goals.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure full compliance with all PAC Group policies, safety regulations, and legal requirements across all inventory management activities.
  • Actively manage identified risks, implementing measures to mitigate potential issues and ensure the safety of all team members and stakeholders.
  • Stay informed on the latest industry standards, best practices, and regulatory changes, incorporating them into inventory management strategies to maintain compliance.

Continuous Improvement and Reporting:

  • Develop and maintain sophisticated reporting tools that provide real-time insights into inventory performance, enabling proactive decision-making and process optimization.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on inventory management activities, presenting findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Lead efforts to implement lean manufacturing principles, 5S methodology, and other best practices that drive efficiency and quality in inventory management.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role, with hands-on experience managing inventory within fast-paced, high-volume environments.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, with a demonstrated ability to manage and mentor multiple teams across various locations.
  • Expertise in data collation and analysis, with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Direct experience with Amazon deployment projects, with a strong understanding of the unique challenges and requirements of such initiatives.
  • Proficiency in IT systems, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and in-house database systems.
  • Proven ability to manage key stakeholders, balancing competing priorities and driving alignment across diverse teams.

Desirable:

  • Experience in lean manufacturing and automation, with a focus on applying these principles to inventory management.
  • Prior experience working on cross-functional teams and managing solo projects.
  • Familiarity with digital inventory management systems and software.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Extensive experience in the automotive, manufacturing, production, or installation/assembly sectors, with a focus on material management.
  • Exceptional team player with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Superior organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example, fostering a professional, positive, and results-driven work culture.
  • Deep understanding of 5S, Lean Manufacturing principles, and other industry best practices.
  • Ability to manage teams in a participative manner, promoting collaboration, creativity, and shared decision-making.

Physical Demands:

This role requires the ability to stand for extended periods, climb stairs, and work from elevated areas. The position involves handling and lifting, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination sufficient to operate tools.
