Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Warehouse Operations Specialist to join our team at Jake's Finer Foods. As a key member of our warehouse team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of our USDA-inspected meat and poultry processing plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inventory Management: Utilize computerized inventory systems to monitor inventory counts, implement FIFO rotations for meat and poultry products, and ensure accurate labeling, packaging, and storage of products.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move products within the warehouse and load/unload truck trailers of shipments.
  • Safety Protocols: Embody the company's commitment to food safety, understand and follow USDA segregation protocols for different species of meats and poultry, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with colleagues, contribute to a positive work environment, and communicate well with team members.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; prior experience in a warehouse or inventory management role preferred.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as load maps, labels, work instructions, and reports; ability to speak and communicate well with team members.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in refrigerated conditions; flexibility to work 8-12 hour shifts based on workload demands.
