  • The Inventory Coordinator is tasked with overseeing, reconciling, and communicating inventory levels of pipes, fittings, reels, and skids to meet both internal and external customer demands.
  • This role is integral to the Services division, focusing on inventory management post-manufacturing, ensuring optimal decision-making to enhance profitability and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • A strong background in ERP inventory management is essential, along with excellent communication skills, organizational abilities, multitasking capabilities, self-motivation, and sound decision-making skills. The Inventory Coordinator is responsible for aligning FlexSteel products with customer requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

To excel in this role, the individual must effectively manage essential duties. Initiative and judgment are crucial in organizing tasks to achieve set objectives. The following qualifications are required:

  • Regularly coordinate with the Assistant Value Stream Manager to maintain delivery schedules and meet inventory needs.
  • Collaborate closely with the Manufacturing Controls Manager to address sales inquiries while considering manufacturing schedules and order forecasts.
  • Support the Sales forecasting team by providing insights on current orders and anticipated delivery timelines.
  • Utilize FIFO methodology to allocate inventory to sales orders based on stock levels, considering other customer demands.
  • Generate and distribute necessary inventory management reports to warehouse supervisors for accurate reconciliation.
  • Conduct periodic reconciliations of inventory across all warehouses for pipes, fittings, reels, and skids.
  • Work with the accounting department to identify necessary inventory adjustments based on reconciliations.
  • Manage inventory transfers between locations to maintain optimal stock levels and prevent shortages or excess.
  • Assist the logistics team in optimizing transportation and reducing costs for both FlexSteel and its customers.
  • Oversee web-based reporting, material planning, shipping processes, and inventory reports.
  • Engage with all internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Provide timely and informative inventory reports to management as needed.
  • Support special projects and strategic initiatives related to product and inventory management.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not entail supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and three to five years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with ERP inventory systems, focusing on inventory planning.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in stock management and maintaining stock file accuracy.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and structured thinking.
  • Strong critical thinking, organizational, decision-making, and planning skills.
  • Proficient in data analysis and forecasting techniques.
  • Ability to accurately track, reconcile inventory, and generate reports.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of working with diverse teams.
  • Ability to thrive in high-pressure situations with multiple demands.
  • Proficient in software applications such as Excel, MS Word, Project (or equivalent), and PowerPoint.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical requirements for this position include:

  • Typical demands of a manufacturing office environment, with occasional travel to various sites as necessary.
  • Frequent standing, sitting, and using hands for handling materials.
  • Occasional walking, reaching, climbing, and stooping.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment includes:

  • An office setting.
  • Typical conditions of a pipeline construction environment.
  • Periodic visits to customer sites, job locations, and manufacturing facilities.
