Must Haves:


  • 2+ years of experience in maritime HVAC Engineering – fans, cooling systems, cooling coils, ductwork, etc.
  • AutoCad software knowledge
  • HVAC design and modeling experience in any software

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Plusses:

  • Knowledge of HVAC calculations- heat loads, pressure drop calculations, pressure loss calculations
  • Experience reading and writing technical HVAC specifications such as HVAC purchase specifications
  • Maritime HVAC system design experience


Day to day:

  • Addressing daily HVAC production issues brought in from the production team
  • Designing, modeling, and checking of HVAC systems
  • Working with other departments (piping, structural, electrical to complete designs for Frigate vessels
  • Attending module meetings to discuss and plan for each HVAC project piece
  • Checking designs in AutoCAD or Ship Constructor to confirm NAVSEA compliance
  • Purchasing specification pieces to fill in any HVAC gaps that may be missing in the “checking” phase of the design
